At RSPCA ACT, we have two incredible pets searching for their perfect forever homes.
Meet Pretty, a loving and devoted dog who just wants to be by your side, and Woolie, a shy but sweet elderly feline waiting for his new home. Could one of them be the companion you’ve been looking for?
Dog of the Week: Pretty
While sometimes the names of our animals are creative and insightful, other times they’re just the basis of an accurate description. Hence this dog’s name: Pretty.
She really is attractive, but not just by her appearance which, like art, is in the eye of the beholder. It’s the way she behaves, her body language, the way she wants to be near you and explore the world together with her owner. It’s pretty.
She’ll want to go for a stroll around the park each day with you and, as a Rhodesian Ridgeback, she’ll need a good, regular brush. For that, you will be rewarded with loyalty, love and, more than likely, face licks.
Pretty has shown good temperament around some of the other dogs at the shelter. She’ll do best in a home where you can spend lots of time with her, but why wouldn’t you want that? Come and see how Pretty she really is.

Cat of the Week: Woolie
You simply must meet this delightful and distinguished gentleman of the cattery, Woolie. He is well attuned to the world and what a suitable home would include, for he is 15 years senior. He longs for the stable environment he has enjoyed for a decade and a half.
He likes a good chin scratch and has very little time for youthful exuberance; instead, our elderly gent would much prefer to find the sunniest spot by the window in your home and nap, only waking periodically to make judgements on the passing world outside.
You’ll note his reluctance to step forward in his cat condo when you visit. This fine gent is not suited to this predicament, he needs a home!
Drop by and visit this lovely and deserving older cat.
Pawsnote: We have some amazing pets, including lots and lots of puppies and kittens, all waiting to be adopted. Come down and say g’day – you might find your new best mate.
Visit RSPCA ACT today at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life. You won’t regret it!
