Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Piper and Astro are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.

Dog of the Week – Piper

The beautiful Piper has been in our care for nearly 200 days and is still looking for a forever home to call her own!

Piper is a sweet girl who is affectionate and loving with people she knows and trusts. After having a litter of puppies when she was only a baby herself, Piper is now ready to find her own forever home, just like all her pups have.

Piper takes a while to get to know new people, so will require a committed owner who can provide a quiet home environment with a regular and predictable routine. Piper has never known life as a loved family companion, so it will take her some time to adjust. Piper’s new family will need lots of love and patience to ensure she settles in.

Piper has had minimal experience with the outside world, so children of any age are likely to be extremely overwhelming. Piper will best suit a home with no children, and with another male dog companion.

Piper cannot wait to find the right family ready to help her confidence grow!

Astro

Astro, the ferret, is looking for a family to move in with.

Ferret of the Week – Astro

Astro the ferret is available for adoption and looking for a forever home to call his own! Astro is a 3-year-old ferret who was surrendered to the shelter recently. Astro is super friendly and very playful, especially with other ferrets, dogs and cats.

This beautiful boy is toilet trained; however, he may sometimes nip to let you know that he is starting to get a little bit hungry. Astro loves playing with smelly shoes and rubber toys, as well as playing inside tubes and boxes. Astro hopes his new home will be able to keep him supplied with ample treats and toys.

Astro’s new family will need to provide staff with pictures of his new enclosure set up before adoption, and they must have an ACT Ferret licence. Astro must also go home with another ferret to ensure he lives a happy and healthy life!

Visit the RSPCA at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
