That strange noise you can hear is certain fundamentalists gnashing their teeth.
The Canberra Times brings word that the controversial abortion pill RU-486 is now available at the Marie Stopes clinic here in Canberra.
- The drug, also known as mifepristone, allows women to have a chemically induced abortion during the first nine weeks of pregnancy, rather than go through a surgical procedure.
Acting Health Minister Simon Corbell said the Government had no objection to the use of RU-486 provided all legal requirements were met.
The Greens said they supported the wider choice the drug offered women. But the Liberals refused to say whether they supported the use of the drug.
Zed must be so thrilled this has come up again.
