Rugby League refs walk off the job

The ABC has the strange news that local Rugby League referees have decided they can’t take the abuse from players and fans.

Referees voiced their anger at a meeting last night, deciding to withdraw their services from all three grades for the first time.

This weekend is the final round of the home-and-away season and if games do not go ahead, it could throw the finals series into chaos.

Fair enough? Or overly thin skinned?

Sounds fair enough to me, it’s likely the only way that they can get league management to take the issue seriously. It’s not like it’s the end of the world if there’s no local footy on this weekend. Life will go on.
