One would think that the purpose of spending time in a virtual world would be to do something different to what one does in real life.
But it seems that many of Australia’s librarians are getting into second life and choosing to be, er, Librarians…
A Perthican one is coming to Canberra to speak at the National Library about the work librarians are doing (as librarians) in Second Life.
Wow! I’m going to give a talk on Second Life at the Australian National Library on Wednesday 14th February, 12:30 – 1:30pm in the Library Theatre as part of their “Digital Culture†series.
One supposes this is a more positive use of the technology than creating an abused past with which to justify a wasted life, or having simulated intercourse.
So, before we all scream “Get a life”, any Second Lifer’s out there who want to explain what we’re missing out on?
