Perhaps racing to Parliament House dressed as Storm Troopers would have more effect, but as it is a Saturday and Parliament isn’t sitting, I am not expecting our elected representatives will take too much notice.

ON 4 MAY, STAND UP FOR: OUR JOBS, OUR CITY, OUR FUTURE

ACT Unions: Celebrating May Day and 100 years of standing up for workers.

Wear Red and bring your family

11:30 am Assemble front of Old Parliament House. Short march to Federation Mall Parliament House for speakers, free BBQ and entertainment.

Three quick reasons to come to the May Day Rally 2013

* 40% of Australian workers have insecure work. Australian unions are campaigning for real jobs http://www.securejobs.org.au/

* Tony Abbott has said he will cut 12,000 jobs from the public sector – and that just for starters. That would have a massive impact on the public services millions of Australians rely on. It means 12,000 households without an income . 12,000 jobs cut means less money to spend on small businesses , and less money to keep our economy strong. www.cutshurt.org.au

* Join us in celebrating the contributions made by unionists in the ACT as part of May Day activities and Canberra centenary celebrations

Organised by UnionsACT and supported by Unions across the ACT and region, Ben Halliday, President UnionsACT

Labours policies have cost a lot more than 12,000 jobs of everyday Aussies, Labour calls it natural attrition.

Actual links to facts or it didnt happen.

Even if it did how does that justify the Lib policy “I intend to murder 10 people because the Labor party murdered 8 so that makes it OK?”

Any chance you could link to that Lib policy for us?

That said, the PM’s advisor is not a choice i agree with, but if she wants to employ him why not?

The main reason to employ a non-Australian citizen using a 457 visa is the requirement that the role requires a skill set that is not available from candidates locally. As our Prime Minister said, “My job as Prime Minister is to make sure that Australians – Australian citizens – have their job opportunities put first.”

gaztek, all I can say is a foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adbored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines. Which one are you?

And IIRC no union’s have employed people on 457 visas, but am willing to stand corrected. That said, the PM’s advisor is not a choice i agree with, but if she wants to employ him why not? And before you judge, I’m not dyed in the wool.

Will you also be protesting the ~5000 PS jobs that the Gillard Labor government has cut over the past 18 months?

Now that’s just being stupid. Under Labor we don’t have cutbacks, we have ‘efficiency dividends’, an entirely different thing, at least according to the Labor luvvies at my workplace.

Really how come you hired 457 visa workers to top Australian union jobs. Juliar even imported a 457 worker John McTernan telling how to stuff our country .

You are so incredibly clever, gazket

Will you also be protesting the ~5000 PS jobs that the Gillard Labor government has cut over the past 18 months? What about addressing extensive union corruption?
