"Save The Roos" Campaign kicks off.

The Chief Minister has rushed to the barricades of the seemingly lost cause of keeping the North Melbourne Kangaroos in Canberra.

Hilariously it seems the community benefit of having 3 AFL games a year at Manuka Oval is his main concern.

Aussie Rules builds enormous community spirit in the region, as well as bringing in important tourism dollars and acting as a boost to local business.

I imagine the Roos are going to keep coy on this until they get competing offers of cold hard cash.

Canberra AFL NSW-ACT commissioner Brian Quade suggested that if the Roos got 18 to 20,000 to their remaining games in Canberra, this would make a statement. Can someone point out to this clown that Manuka only holds 15,000 absolutely chockers, and the only ground that would have held 20,000 was converted from an oval to a rectangle and renamed Canberra Stadium 6 or 7 years ago…

running a mower over the grounds at Phillip might be a start
then running a mower over the tv and radio execs that several times last year sent me off to foxtel land to get any sort of coverage

i guess we will see how serious the afl really are about developing act as an afl market.

coverage of matches on free to air is atrocious.

Say goodbye to the Roos….we’ll never be able to match the offer being made by the Gold Coast.

It’s the same old story (Cosmos, Cannons) the government and people don’t give enough support to our national teams then cry when they leave.
