ANU has informed the world that the School of Music is going to start streaming the audio of its concerts.

The School of Music’s new online initiative, Streaming Sounds, will be launched at a live performance in Llewellyn Hall on Sunday 16 August at 3pm.

Titled Clarinet.Ballistix, this free concert will be streamed live on the internet using the latest video and audio technology.

Renowned performers and School of Music staff, clarinetist Alan Vivian, cellist David Pereira and pianist Alan Hicks will be joined by pianist Katherine Day to present a varied program of works from Verdi to Gershwin, including new compositions by Australian composers Elena Kats-Chernin and Miroslav Bukovsky from ANU. The concert will be introduced by Colin Fox of ABC Classic FM.

Apparently details of exactly how to take the feed will, in due season, appear on the School’s page (which I can’t help but note is sporting a little bouncing anigif just screaming “1995”).
