In a “ScreenACT Special Notice” circulated late Monday, it transpires that two of the three staff in the ACT Government Office of Film, Television and Digital Media have taken voluntary redundancies. One is the Manager, the other is the Admin and Liaison Officer.
Significantly, these two claim to “have put forward our own submission in regard to the continued operation of the office, based on our views on how the office could have been set up to make it a more effective and better resourced proposition for the benefit of the whole industry”.
This news will come as little surprise to some RiotACT commentators, who have dared to ponder the usefulness of this Office in the two years since it was established. The question is, will it – or should it – survive?
