Scullin house fire

ACT Fire & Rescue are currently on scene on Mollison Street, Scullin at a house fire.

Crews are currently fighting the fire and have contained it to the property.

Three fire pumpers on scene, the Breathing Appartus Van and also the Hazardous Materials Support Unit.

Update to follow

7:00 PM

Fire has been knocked down and crews are attacking hot spots in the three bedroom, brick veneer house, which has been extensively damaged.

Fire started in the kitchen whilst occupant was cooking.

Single occupant of the house safely self evacuated.

ACT Ambulance Service intensive care paramedics are also on scene and are treating one 30-year-old male patient for minor smoke inhalation.

Two ACT Fire & Rescue Command vehicles also on scene.

Time of Emergency Triple Zero (000) call 6.43pm.

7:23 PM

Fire has been extinguished.

House has been destroyed.

The male patient did not require transport to hospital.

ACT Fire & Rescue crews are completing operations and will depart the scene shortly.

Well, it’s still up and identifiably a house, but does indeed look pretty destroyed.

Oil fire in the kitchen, reportedly … seems it got real big, real quick.

Not every day we get a “House has been destroyed”.
