Can’t wait for the insular “me, me, me” motorists – whose roads are not paid for by registration, but by taxes that everyone pays – to start whinging about a road being closed for one day of the year.

What about the bike path that runs parallel with this stretch of road?

Oh wait. Could this be one?

FWIW, I called to ask Canberra Connect and they hadn’t heard anything about the closure (But it’s half-five on a Friday in the Silly Season, so that’s not so very surprising).

Not suitable for a triathalon, far too hilly, narrow and twisty.

Thank god for TheRiotAct then.

Also reminded me, the Xmas Eve warning fire, I went for a ride along that path. Approaching the Museum Annexe paddock, I noticed a bucket helicopter every minute or so.
The SES light truck running aound the paddock was another hint. They’d closed the road but given no thought to the path.
