Seriously heavy junk mail

I have the same problem, Every week, a mountain of junk mail is dumped in my mail box right on top of the No Junk Mail sign. I really want to sit on my doorstep just so I can catch the idiot delivering the mail and ‘return’ his mail to where the sun don’t shine.

The biggest problem is I’m going away for a holiday, don’t have anyone to collect my mail, and am rather pissed off that despite paying Australia Post to stop my mail, I’ll still have a great big pile of junk mail signalling to every burgler in the suburb that I’m away.

I’m wondering if I came back to a ransacked house whether I could sue the junk mail company.

Was your friend partly mistaken?

In our area, Auspost was contracted for some junkmail deliveries. The postie(s?) ignored (out of laziness?) the stickers too. A few complaints were lodged and the problem was solved.

Catalogues are dropped off under trees all over the place by the boss, then the deliverers pick them up bit by bit and deliver them. e.g. Corroborree Park has a “drop-off tree” diagonally opposite the old Guides hall.

This was months of papers, thrown behind a garage. Not waiting for distribution. I have a distribution point near my house, the papers are bundled in plastic straps and disappear after a few days

If they’re all from coles or similar, give the “customer care” line a call. We had the same issue with a mound of papers (literally hundreds of kilos worth). They went around, cleaned it up and promised it would not happen again.

I must admit I quite like some junk mail. The wonders of the ALDI catalogue for example; what amazing special theme will unify it this week? I’m just waiting for a scuba diving edition, or hang-gliding perhaps, in the manner of James Bond, with matching uniforms for minions.

Why not just leave the recycling bin out the front and put a big sign on front saying “Junk Mail Here Please”

The No Junk Mail Sticker didn’t work very well at our place. Also, apparently, no junk mail stickers don’t apply to political and charity mail.
