Sheep stabbing at Lyneham High

Feathergirl 22 May 2009 43

A pair of sheep were stabbed at Lyneham High School last night according to the News Limited .

One sheep died from the stabbing and the other had to be put down. What is wrong with people? I honestly wonder sometimes.

Before any vegitarians points it out I do eat lamb myself, but I could never go cruelly stab some school’s pets. I hope it wasn’t any of the students, somehow thinking that a little angry kiddie did it is even worse than thinking some stupid psycho yokel is guilty.

Unfathomable. Animal torture/killing is apparently one of the first signs of serial killer tendencies; be afraid Canberra, be very afraid.
Probably a bunch of students angry at the agriculture teacher.
Probably more a damn good indication of sick and twisted individuals. If that was done as some kind of revenge from Aggie students, then they need serious counseling as that indicates no appreciation for their actions.

These people have probably have tortured and killed animals before. They will undoubtedly continue to torture and kill animals. They are weak and gutless specimens.

They certainly need psychological assessment. But is there a cure for being a bad and evil person?

If they're caught, they'll get off as per usual in the ACT. Barbed wire and plastic tube punishment would be just.

Find them. Fix what is wrong in their minds or keep them locked up. People who do that have shown a tendency to progress to other things.

:-(

Hopefully they will find those responsible.

There is provision for the person responsible to undergo psychological assessment prior to any sentencing under the Animal Welfare Act. This may be the start of a terrible career of serial cruelty.

Ferret torturers?

dtc 4:14 pm 22 May 09

The sheep were kept behind a pretty high wire fence (maybe 10ft high). Its not someone would decide to hop over the fence and do it on a whim while stumbling home drunk from Dickson.

I have never been able to understand how a person can enjoy the suffering of others. The one that had to be euthanased could have spent the whole night in agony. I'm glad that they were found by staff rather than students. This will be very upsetting for the kids, I should think. The place won't seem as safe or happy as before.

Thumper 4:03 pm 22 May 09

Very different I'm afraid.

My grandfather used to stab lambs all the time.

Then he would skin them rip out all their innards and hang them out to dry near the chookhouse.

My gran liked the brains and livers, so they would usually end up on the kitchen bench soon after.

A day or so later the butcher would put the carcass on a table in the garage and chop up the lamb into convenient bite size pieces.

Some would be used that night, but most went into the freezer and we would have yummy lamb meals for weeks afterwards.

But, I take your point. Sounds a bit dodgy.

Thumper 4:00 pm 22 May 09

How can someone do this?

Seriously? What sort of mind does one have that can coldly just stab an innocent creature to death?
