Just thought of something, perhaps the public servants want to be closer to the flying quick exit place.

It has something to do with Simple Simon spending most of his time in Civic and therefore thinking that it is Canberra. The airport is closer to that Queanbeyan thing and therfore can’t possibly be part of Canberra…until it suits Simple Simon anyway.

Why on earth is Simple Simon sooo Civic focussed? Doesn’t he realise people in Gungahlin are starving for white-collar workers. 500 from DEWR would make a huge difference, surely it’s just as good for the workers as the airport (not to mention further from struggletown).

This government fix something??? Ha ha haaaaaa!

Areaman –

Pretty sure QIC haven’t come up in this thread, you’re starting to sound familiar…

As for the rest. Civic is an unfriendly environment for business, the government has made it so, if they ever understood comp-etition instead of stitch-ups they’d fix it.

As is, civic is doomed.

I do worry about letting Snow be heavily involved in running our city centre. He has an eye to his own pocket first and foremost. Action busses aren’t allowed to go to the airport without paying a huge fee – it won’t work if civic ends up like that…

What do you mean snow’s plan is never mentioned, it got weeks of front pages in the Times and every time any civic plan is mentioned in the said same paper his plan gets re-mentioned.

Do you have any evidence of Corbell’s favouring his mates (which you seem to think the QIC are, but i haven’t seen any proof of)?

Isnt this interesting. In the reportage over the last few days where his wonderful plans for civic revitalisation etc have been portrayed as some radical innovation, not one mention was made of Snow’s own plan – which to me looks reasonable if a little ambitious.

the planning problems in the act and civic specifically are well known and simon sits on his hands to resolve them, unless youre a mate or have special access.

is it any wonder business looks at the bottom line and go for an area where one body controls planning.

if the reasons businesses opted for the airport were eliminated, maybe they would stay in civic.

is that going to happen ?

and yes I did just go thru the ABC website and whack these up, very busy at the moment
