Simon Corbell has announced his plans for Pialligo:

Heritage and semi-rural character will be maintained in the Pialligo master plan whilst promoting small scale commercial development, Minister for Environment and Sustainable Development, Simon Corbell said today.

“The ACT Government has been working closely with the Pialligo local community to produce a master plan that guides Pialligo’s growth and change over time, providing economic opportunities within its unique character setting,” Mr Corbell said.

The master plan looks to build on the economic opportunities Pialligo presents, consistent with residents’ wishes to diversify the commercial activities in the area.

“Consistent with its character, the master plan puts forward a planning framework that will encourage small scale commercial development close to Beltana Road and retain the highly fertile soils towards the rear of many blocks and its agricultural potential,” Mr Corbell said.

“A balance between residential, agriculture and related commercial land uses is necessary to ensure businesses can continue to operate and diversify into the future.
