Storytime Ballet: Coppélia

Where: Canberra Theatre Centre
When: Friday and Saturday 11 am, 2 pm, 4 pm
A sparkling tale of magic and mischief, where all is not what it seems… Experience ballet’s most playful comedy live on stage in an interactive production of Coppélia. Join the young lovers Swanilda and Franz as they sneak into Dr Coppelius’ mysterious workshop and discover the secrets of his mechanical dolls. Running for under an hour and brimming with magic tricks, life-sized toys and enchanting costumes, this narrated version of Coppélia is perfect for the little ones.

Photography after DARK

Where: Australian National Botanical Gardens
When: Friday, 7:30 pm – 10:30 pm
Delve into the misty rainforest, explore the amazing diversity of plants and capture some of the creatures that call the gardens home at night. Join Irene Lorbergs from the Canberra School of Photography for an exclusive three-hour guided night photography workshop in the gardens. Learn how to ‘paint with light’ during sunset, dusk and the black of night. Suitable for intermediate to advanced photographers aged 15 years and over. Bookings are essential as places are limited.

Dirty Dancing on the big screen

Where: Limelight Cinemas Tuggeranong
When: Friday, 7 pm
Nobody puts Baby in a corner! If you are crazy for Swayze, don’t miss the classic 1987 dance flick Dirty Dancing which will be shown on the big screen, with singing and dancing highly encouraged throughout the duration of the film! Deadly 60 Down Under!

After multiple sell-out Australian tours and sold out shows from Broome to the Sydney Opera House, don’t miss Steve’s most exciting show ever – Deadly 60 Down Under, featuring some of Australia’s deadliest animals live on stage! Summer Lovin’ with Osher Günsberg

When: Saturday, 6 pm – 9 pm
Join host Osher Günsberg for a summer party in the Gallery’s spectacular Australian Gardens. Enjoy a picnic for this enchanting garden party with friends, food, entertainment, and love advice from the country’s resident romance expert.
