JR’s sent in some pics of Skyfire 18 which went off with the proverbial bang last night. Aside from Lee Harding doing a dodgy, cover filled, set with atrocious sound most of the entertainment was a hit.

Hats off to FM104.7 for putting the show together. Having had their people compere Tropfest the week before it feels like we’re family.

One of the highlights of the entertainment was the ACT’s shiny firefighting chopper sucking up lake water and letting it back out again. You could really hear the engine change pitch when it had a full load in.

The Roulettes put on a fantastic show, shame the MC’s wandered off onto other topics while the performance was still going on.

And then it was time for the fireworks which, as these things go, were absolutely top notch IMHO.

I thought I did. But I mustn’t have. I shall pay more attention in future, I promise.

LG, you need to read the wotz on guide each week.

You need to keep your ear to the ground in this town to find out what is going on…

I didn’t know it was on. But then I didn’t know Billy Connelly was in town either. Was there any advertising? I spoke to a group of people this morning, none of whom know it had been on until I mentioned I’d missed it.

nice photos, very well done, thanks

Totally agree about The Roulettes. They were rather special – wheras normally when seen at other events they’re….well…boring actually. Saturday night however they were quite spectacular. Top class fireworks as well.

I had to work ! 🙁
