Skyfire: who,what,when,where?

As mid-March approaches, all of us who have never lost our love of Christmas, birthdays and all things shiny are eagerly awaiting the next installment of FM 104.7’s Skyfire.

Unfortunately for all however is the lack of easily accessible information on the event.

The official website here, is a complete waste of time. It doesn’t mention what time the fireworks actually commence, but have provided a page dedicated with loads of information on where to “pee”.

As a dedicated beer lover I applaud the information that will no doubt be a much better than resorting to going behind some poor blokes car. However a bit of information on basics would be well received too.

Then again, the website does closely resemble a high school students Angelfire website, so perhaps the info is buried amongst the abundance of sponsorship banners and urinal pages.

If anyone with some useful info regarding starting times etc could post a comment in this, it would be appreciated.

Just in case you’re not being facetious, either regatta point or around commonwealth place is best.

“um, will it be round by yarramundi reach or somewhere???”

Possibly, but it depends on what sort of ‘entertainment’ you’re looking for. Just watch out for all the blokes hanging around the toilets as their version of the “dump and burn” may not be what you’re expecting!

…and where is the netrtainment? ‘on the shores of lake BG…’ right then, it’s a small lake, should just turn up and see?

um, will it be round by yarramundi reach or somewhere???

I never watch SkyFart(tm). It’s the same old crap every year.

rofl LMT.

I can’t believe that the first time in my life there are fireworks scheduled on my birthday, I’m not going to be here to see them. That bites.

A ‘dump & burn’…no wonder the website is concentrating on where the dunnies are.

Peter Komar, the local hero who crash landed an F-111 last year, will be flying over head and performing a dump and burn for the crowd.

If you want a decent spot you have to arrive much earlier anyway.

I was listening today and it said just after 8, but arrive much earlier.

Do they have a “She Pee tm”?

104.7 mentioned that this year there would be fireworks coming off the roof of questacon, the carillon and kings avenue.

I guess they want people to stay for the “entertainment” instead of just rocking up at the fireworks time. If they didn’t do this there would probably be very few people around before fireworks

Well it usually starts at sundown, or around 8.30 or so.
I reckon they just pick a random time every year because sometimes you seem to be waiting around for ages for it to kick off.

But I will probably be there…I mean, they’re fireworks and they’re big and loud!

But it’s the only time all yaer that I listen to 104.7
