Slow news day: Bureau of Statistics reports sky still blue, Pope still Catholic.

An ABC News article says the latest ABS snapshot shows that we Canberrans are on average smarter, richer, and healthier than the average Australian.

We’re also more abusive to our children.

But what it fails to mention is how we compared to last ABS report, so we don’t know if we’re better\worse off, or just treading water.

I reckon all of those statistics can be put down to the fact that unlike every other state and territory, we virtually all live in the city.

If any passing Editor wants to update the story to contain the above link as an update…

Apparently we’re less fertile as than the national average, but the moment our women hit 30 they just start generating babies (by magic, as there’s a man drought going on).

No suprise: Our rents are highest in the country.

But telling your kid to go to their room is almost classed as abuse by some squareheads, so how reliable is that figure?
