Small fire at Garran Primary

ACT Fire & Rescue has extinguished a small fire in a toilet block at The Garran Primary School on Gilmore Crescent.

Fire was contained to the toilet block.

All students and staff were safely evacuated and accounted for.

Another small fire has been extinguished in the main building.

3:00 PM

ACT Fire & Rescue are conducting ventilation operations.

ACT Ambulance Services intensive care paramedics have assessed five patients for mild smoke inhalation with no patients requiring hospitalisation.

3:12 PM

All five patients assessed by the ACT Ambulance Service were staff from the school.

ACT Fire & Rescue has now handed the scene to ACT Policing to investigate the cause of the fires.
