Smell of smoke in Deakin

ACT Fire & Rescue are currently investigating a smell of smoke at an office building on Geils Court, Deakin.

No sign of fire.

Approximately 20 people have been evacuated as a precaution.

Update to follow.

11:58 AM

Crews are continuing to investigate the smell and are conducting atmospheric monitoring operations.

Still no sign of fire.

Building remains evacuated as a precaution.

Update to follow.

12:22 PM

ACT Fire & Rescue has completed atmospheric monitoring operations.

Cause of smell unknown.

Staff have been permitted to return to the building and fire crews are now departing the area.
