Smiths Road Bridge opens today

John Lafferty of the Smiths Road Community has been delighted to send in this picture of the replacement bridge due to open today with this note.

The temporary Smiths Road bridge over the Gudgenby River is looking good.

Smiths Road still has a lot of dmaged area from the flooding last December and is narrow in places…take care!

And remember that Angle Crossing road is closed from 7/3/2011 until 28/3/2011. The road is being cut in two locations for work on the water transfer project.

The Smiths Road community sight says the temporary bridge has a weight limit of… 42.9t.
To put that in perspective, the Australian Army’s Leopard Tanks were 42.2t!
