So much to see and do on Australia Day.

Ted Quinlan has put out an enthusiastic media release detailing the Australia Day entertainment options for those brave Canberrans who don’t flee to the coast to escape the fury of Russell Crowe.

Personally I thought this one sounded like the pick of the bunch:

Alternatively, families can enjoy a great day at Cotter Reserve with the return of the very popular Cotter Bush Picnic featuring Canberra rock/rockabilly legends The Fuelers, bush dancing displays, street theatre, mini-train rides and the opening of some new walking trails at the Cotter.

Just need to find a schmuck to drive back because The Fuellers should not be viewed sober.

I saw the new walking trails last weekend when the family & I went to the Cotter on Sat morning for breakfast (a great thing to do by the way, nobody else there pretty much, lovely setting, clean bbq plates for bacon & eggs). They’re less “walking trails” & more “concrete paths” just like through our suburbs…they do provide a pleasant walk though & the unfinished ones went up into the hills…presumably eventually heading up to the dam, which has been off limits pretty much since the fires.

Pity I will be at BDO that day… would love to see the fuellers again

Surely they would fly him back to Sydney where he can hunt the homless with Nokias?

Yes but ssanta, if JB rides to the Cotter I suspect that would require me to ride there too. As it is, I can make a good guess about the “schmuck to drive back”…

I’d prefer Rusty to sing a song with the Fuellers or play the beer cactus game…
By the way, the comrade didn’t announce a time.

Kerces,

You of all people ought know he needs the excercise!

The Cotter is a fair way on a bike. And all those hills…

Ride a bike you lazy alco.
