If you fancy an afternoon of listening to various live musics, sitting on grass and enjoying a sizzling BBQ, you can head out to the Botanic Gardens where Summer Sounds 2012 is already under way and will be running ’til the end of January.

Entry is by donation to the Friends of the Gardens. Donations collected by the Friends are used to fund new projects in the Botanic Gardens each year.

If you arrive via car and it’s jam-packed, have no fear for additional parking is available at the Clunies Ross Street car park and CSIRO Black Mountain.

Kids shouldn’t be bored either with free activities for them around the place.

New to the festival this year are dance demonstrations which will span different genres including salsa and swing.

If you haven’t been this month yet, you missed a couple of artists, but there are still plenty of more acts to come which are probably worth checking out.
