Solomon Islanders coming to the mean streets of Canberra

The Solomon Times is reporting that after years of ACT Policing officers going over to the Solomons, two of them are coming here.

“While in Canberra, the local officers will do patrols, community policing and other aspects of policing, along side their Australian A-F-P counterparts there.”

There goes any illusions of inferiority the Solomoners might have been harbouring. A few months of domestics should set them straight.

Actually they aren’t big lads like Tongans or other ‘typical’ Islanders. They are friendly generous people who have improved in leaps and bounds from the troubles they faced in their home country – of course there are always bad apples but can any country say they don’t have them?

I think it is an excellent idea to expose the Solomon Island Police to our fair streets to give them an idea of where we are coming from when we go over there…..

If I recall correctly, solomon islanders are typically large lads – I think that the only inferiority complexes that will be out there will be bouncers…
