Parkour – The ancient French martial art of running away.

I like saying that because it deeply annoys both the French and kung fu freaks.

Either way here’s some more new parkour video of around Canberra. A bit of a worry seeing the Commonwealth Park castle used for vicarious fun, they’ll need to close more of it if word spreads.

It was posted by baynej with the following note:

Yes Canberra’s a hole but here we can see some people try and make the best of it!
Ps. Parkour is a new sport and you jump over stuff and its real cool to watch!
Just like in the start of James bond!!

Everyone on here that has bagged it are probably JEALOUS, overweight, unfit bags of s#*t, who couldn’t be bothered removing themselves from in front of their computer screens, to set foot into the great outdoors and doing any kind of fitness what so ever.

Oh man – are you a magician or something – how do you know so much about me?! Far out this is freaky!

I said probably JEALOUS, overweight, unfit bags of s#*t, I didn’t say you are a JEALOUS, overweight, unfit bag of s#*t. But I guessed right…yipeeeeee!

I agree I think it’s great to see kids using their time doing something positive.

If you can do better then prove it.

No thanks Granny – I’d rather not look like a try-hard knob! 😛

I reckon these lads could do some good parkour up and down Anzac Parade :p

And I’ll pay the sly disco beats of DFA’s MIA remix – people need to hear that stuff.

Better than hanging around bus interchanges hassling people for small changefor a cheeseburger.

^^
Very True.

c’mon, you cynical ones tell me you didn’t muck around as a kid – and if you’d had access to a video camera (like most kids do nowadays) – you’d have recorded and edited it too… and put it up on YouTube…

Some of you are just waaaaaaaay to cynical… this is just the “showing off” of this generation – nothing wrong with it… (as long as they are not harming others)

It’s not like they are burning palm trees and filming it 😛

And third it; even Xin, the Urban Ninja, had to start somewhere.

A fourth big-up to the energetic young’uns. Hands up whose kids of a similar vintage are currently hunched over some form of video game controller or slumped in front of the idiot box?

Good for them…I guess.

I would happily volunteer to be the camera crew and the director and the make-up lady. Don’t thank me! *chuckle*

I actually think the boys did a great job of putting the clip together, and if they weren’t the most impressive parkour athletics on the net they were still probably better than most adults could do.

If you can do better then prove it.

Good on them. In this day and age of fat retards that live in mcDonalds or pizza hut this is good to see.

Okay – I have to second this one Thumper 😛

Good to see these kids doing something to keep themselves fit and active, I think Parkour is one of the best ways to keep in shape and it is a talent one must learn with time and practise. I have taken my kids to a session of Parkour in canberra and really enjoyed it.

All you people should stop being so negative towards these kids and be thankful they are spending their time doing something positive and drug free, instead of doing negative things like breaking into your houses and getting stoned off their heads. TUTT TUTT people.

Canberra’s a bit of a hole hey…

Then why not take a running leap out of it with your silly French surrender monkey sport.

Can’t you blokes afford skateboards?

“Two Boys, One city”

They obviously edited the bit out when they played leapfrog and got stuck halfway…

It’s a bit ambitious to be comparing it to the opening scenes of Casino Royale. Where’s the blooper reel?

That wasn’t it?

or end up with their brains all over the pavement 😛

I look forward to that video ending up on YouTube.

It does kind of lack that Parkour “flow”, doesn’t it.

But, hey, they’re young. They’ll either get the hang of it or end up with their brains all over the pavement 😛

Wow, that movie was right: White Men Can’t Jump!

Looks like someone has been watching a little too much Casino Royale?!

It’s a bit ambitious to be comparing it to the opening scenes of Casino Royale. Where’s the blooper reel?
