I just told someone we would do something different on Thursday night and despite an extensive googling there really seems to be nothing happening on the evening of 6 January in Canberra.

Can anyone offer suggestions? With a musical twist if possible.

Thanks

Smiths Alternative Bookshop, music with The Wakes, Sharp Sharp Pretty and Kingfisher this evening from 7.00pm, free entry. Johnboy reviewed it on here a while ago with pics.

Just looking at the paper there is a fundraiser at Transit Bar tonight for 2 local MCs MoneyKats. They are raising money to fund a new album to be recorded in the States. Seems to be hip hop. Entry is $5 before 10pm and $10 after that. I searched for MC Omar Musa on YouTube and found this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_rcotmauVI&feature=related. MC Omar Musa also won the Poetry Slam competition.

It actually sounds like a fun night.

Not musical, but Canberra Cavalry is playing in Narrabundah at 7pm tonight.

Canberra Cavalry baseball team play the Brisbane Bite tonight at 7:00pm at the Narrabundah ball park. There are plenty of music clips throughout the night to enjoy!

Gates open at 6:00pm, get tickets online or at the gate

Also playing 7pm Fri & Sat evenings and 1:30 Sunday afternoon.

Pot Belly is open.

It was closed Mon night coz it was a public holiday.

Yep, nothing’s on. Nothing will be open, the lake and other open spaces will be closed. Walking into a park will be an offence. There’s no chance of the cinemas being open, as they have been told not to entertain anyone. The various bars and pubs around have been warned to look out for people who want to be entertained and not to entertain them. Plays at the various theatres around have also been called off. Most of the associations and clubs who normally keep people entertained have decided it’s too much trouble. There’ll be a total barbecue ban, and anyone caught enjoying themselves talking to friends over a drink on a balcony, patio, pergola or manicured lawn will be summonsed for procuring fun. Attempting to ride a bicycle around the lake to enjoy the balmy evening air will result in derision from the fun police and possible confiscation of handlebars.

However I believe Summernats is hosting a concert by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra with a guest appearance by Dame Tiri Te Kanawa (I might be wrong on this, check program guides).

I think it’s open mic night at The Pot Belly…

I hear a choir of neanderthals in Jim Beam T-shirts will be performing in Watson tonight.

Popular numbers include Show us Your …….

You could go out to Braddon on Thursday night and watch all the Summernat cars. Lol.
