The reservoirs are full, the farmers don’t want it right now. Just about the only thing all this wet is good for is keeping the rivers up.

dihedralcorner has posted this footage of YouTube with this note:

Last weekend’s run down Red Rocks Gorge at 2.05m, just before the Wet Season came to Canberra 😉

“What kind of sick freak are you? God would never have intended a union like that!”

That’s exactly the kind of small-minded comment that keeps kayakers all over the world ‘in the closet’. People don’t just become kayakers as a lifestyle choice, p1, they are born that way. Time to open your mind and accept them just the way they are.

Like many Australians, I look forward to a referendum on Kayakkers right to be legally married. Surely it’s time we recognised that the love between two kayakkers is worth celebrating.

I think I saw those guys float past. I was hanging out down near what they call the Horseshoe rapid. Looks like fun.

For an idea of what red rocks looks like with even more water check out the start of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFcFZn6VqSA

I had some footage with 3 times the water again (~30,000 ML/Day) but lost the camera on the same day. I do have some photos, this is red rocks gorge itself full to the brim: http://www.kayakcanberra.com/wp-content/plugins/view.php?gallery=100216_murrumflood&num=8

I went down Red Rocks Gorge about 6 years ago – fortunately it didn’t look anything like it does in that clip!
