Hi guys,

Northsider heading South, looking for a Kids Indoor playground in the Tuggeranong area. Does such a beast exist?

Thanks

There are a few playgrounds scattered around Lake Tugeranong that could be worth a look. There also used to be one of those indoor playgrounds in Kambah near the indoor sports centre although I’m not sure if it is still there, and there is always Kambah adventure playground if the weather is nice.

Tarquin likes playgroup… *ahem*

Tried calling the yellowpages listing for Kids Rampage with no luck – answering machine seems to be an accountant. As the wife will be heading to a function in Theodore was hoping for something nearby/close to Tuggeranong TC, so that would have been ideal.

My kids do enjoy Kid City, but it’s a bit far to drop the wife and do the run back and forth for the post-function pickup. Ditto Let’s Play.

Monkey Mania is one that gets me thinking about the structural integrity of the entire DFO complex, and whether that kind of building was designed for the kind of rocking and swaying you can feel in the floor when you’re there. I keep being reminded of that “30 seconds from disaster” episode about the Sampoong Department Store. Irrational but there it is.

Either way – this is more a backup – if the weather is good (planning ahead for the weekend after this one) I’ll finally get across to look at Point Hut Pond Playground and try a picnic (can be a bit hit and miss with a 1 year old and nearly 3 year old). Have looked at that from across the pond a couple of times on the way to Tidbinbilla and wanted to check it out.

Meanwhile obvious troll is obvious – though I do enjoy the fact someone called Comic and Gamer Nerd is the one pointing at others uttering phrases like lazy human trash.

Huh? Kids need to play and if it’s rainy, the only good time is midday (UV) or they’re getting crazy for a change of scenery then indoor adventure playgrounds are ideal. What’s lazy, bogan or trashy about that?

Or do you only let Tarquin play with the other pampered children in your expensive, tasteful suburb, avoiding places where the untouchables are permitted to enter?

I’m guessing, by the tag ‘CGN’, his kids have a range of Xboxes, Playstations and Wii’s at home to ‘exercise’ with! Hehe! 🙂

Fun Factory moved to Fyshwick (behind the KFC down thw road from the Mully Tree) a few years ago. I hear it may not be open any more.

I think Kid’s Rampage has closed down.

As miz wrote, Monkey Mania may be the only one Southside.

Monkey Mania @ DFO . . .
Also, not sure if it is still going (my kids are big now) but they loved Fun Factory @ Kambah.

Kids Rampage. Not as big as Kid City or Let’s Play but the kids don’t seem to care. You just might struggle to get a comfy seat at peak times.
