Speaking about cricket…

By Thumper - 13 July 2007 6

I was wondering about the loss of players the ACT has had over the years to other states.

As such, let’s see if we can put together a comprehensive list of first class cricketers, or potential first class cricketers that have left the ACT in search of higher honours elsewhere.

I’ll start with an ex team mate of mine from the 1980s.

Peter Bowler (Ex ACT, Tasmania, Somerset, Derbyshire, Leicestershire)

What’s Your opinion?

Yep,

I could have done the list.

Andy James is still playing 2nd XI in WA without having played a first class match.

There’s a fairly long list of players moving in/out of the ACT in search of higher honours, such as: (some have played 2nd xi / or not yet made it)

Ryan Bulger (SA/NSW)
Adam Ritchard (NSW)
Michael Shaw
Darren McNees (Tas)
Divin (Tas)
Andrew James (WA)
Wade Irvine (Tas)
Cade Brown (Vic & NSW)
Martin Haywood
Stuart Karpinnen (WA)
Stewart Heaney (NSW and Canada)
and coach Shaun Williams (Bangladesh)

There are bound to be more if I really put some thought into it.
