A 27-year-old Spence man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today after police arrested him minutes after allegedly committing a burglary.
About 2.40 am this morning (Wednesday, February 29), the residents of a Dunlop home were awoken by their dogs barking.
Upon investigating, the male resident saw the internal garage door was open and a person crawling out of the garage.
Police attended within minutes of this occurring, locating the 27-year-old crouching in nearby grassland.
A handbag containing cash and car keys had been stolen from the home.
The alleged offender was arrested and taken to the ACT Watch House where he was charged with Burglary, Theft and Going Equipped for Theft. Police will be opposing bail.
