Blossom

Poetix is excited about spring.

Real blossom as snapped on Northbourne. And a strange, big blue thing hovered above.

Got an image of Canberra

I agree that it’s been a very grey, English type winter (quite like their summer, to judge by the Ashes). I’ve ridden my bike much less than usual because of the rain. I feel colder if it’s grey, even if the temperature is higher. You can feel the vitamin D leaching from your body. But that’s enough whingeing.

Roll on summer! Blue skies are coming.

I’m the same – I rode my bike a heap last winter, but far less this winter, with all the cold, rainy and windy days (and it’s always a bloody headwind!)

The fact we actually have distinct seasons is one of the things I love about Canberra, but this year I can’t wait for our winter to bugger off and for spring to arrive. It’s not even like we’ve been able to console ourselves with the fact that within three hours we can be up at the snow…there’s barely been any!

I was just recently diagnosed with Vitamin D deficiency, of all bloody things. Apparently a large part of the ACT population is likewise afflicted these days.

Anyway, I’m with Poetix. Roll on summer.

We had 47 frosts last winter, a couple of them -7’s. At least after a frosty morning you usually get a sunny day not grey and drizzly.

Yeah i much prefer the cold nights and sunny days with a gentle breeze..

I think the winter has been stunningly mild, and whilst not exactly enjoyable, it has been eminently liveable. We have not used as much heating as in past years. Anyhow, it is nice to see budding trees – which I am sure are earlier than usual.

It’s been a particularly unpleasant winter – grey and drizzly. We’ve had precious few of those glorious clear winter days that make the season worthwhile.

Spring is coming and it’s not a second too soon… (I have not enjoyed this winter)
