Police Minister simple Simon was spruiking about all the extra police and police patrols but do any of us really believe there are more cops on the beat.

I believe they are there, out there manning speed traps and RBT’s. I’m not saying that we as a society don’t need traffic police, but we do get a overly large proportion of them, compared to average police officer out there to protect life and limb.

I’ve needed the police once and to be honest next time I need them, I’ll probably save myself the time and effort and get a few of my mates around to dish out our own justice rather than waiting for them to do a no show or for the legal system to go soft on the criminals. (yes I do realise the irony in that statement, but remember, the soft on criminals part).

BTW I’m sorry to any law enforcement officer (inc a couple of my mates) who actually try to do the right thing, it does however seem to me that the right thing and the profitable thing gets mixed up by gov’ts of all sides.

Since the new roster came in earlier in the year, there are generally a lot more police on the beat during most times of the day and night, particularly ‘peak’ periods. To suggest ALL the extra police are manning RBTs and speed traps is just silly. The misconception that any cop gives a rats about raising revenue for the Govt is nonsense. Most I know hate doing ‘speed traps’ etc.

As far as police doing a ‘no show’ to what sounds like an assault…I think a bit more info is needed. I’ve never heard of an assault getting fobbed off, ever.

Whatsup said :

You’ve got a better chance of losing life and limb on the roads than other situations. The police are throwing resources where its needed. I agree we need more police but across all areas.

I’m not disagreeing with this, but it’s little comfort when little thugs who everyone in the area knows who they are and what they do, gives someone a shiner, and yet the coppers are unwilling to do anything about it, even after you give names and addresses of the offenders.

Tylersmayhem suffers from what is a serious problem in our society, one that we need to address without simple name-calling and blunt weapons. A fairly high percentage of our population grow up with genital-head-syndrome….

How long have you been storing that little gem to use on here? How long did it take to write? Very creative, and even got a chuckle out of me. You’re a genius!

Is Red Hill Shops where Juniperberry is located ?

This sort of story is just further evidence that public housing should be banned from the inner city, and placed way out in the sticks somewhere that doesn’t matter, like, say, Gungahlin.

So…if I don’t agree with something, I don’t comment.

Kind of fudges the point, doesn’t it?

Simple, if you dont like was is said then dont contribute and move on. Nuff said, peace.

Has anything on this thread been said seriously, apart from that?

Yeah – kinda like “Bum Fights” that they used to have on cable. This one we can call “dealer vs smacky fights”.

Which, to bring up a serious point, if you hate smacky’s…why aren’t you glad someone’s stabbed a few of them?

a drug-related double stabbing in front of the Red Hill shops

Imagine that?!

Now for Deadmandrinking’s synopsis of why the poor little darlings can’t help their drug addiction or taste for violence – and what more we should be doing as a community to accept and help them. 😉

Tylersmayhem suffers from what is a serious problem in our society, one that we need to address without simple name-calling and blunt weapons. A fairly high percentage of our population grow up with genital-head-syndrome. It’s an insidious disease. Sufferers are never aware they suffer from this syndrome, although they are informed every day by drivers, people on the internet, family-members and IT help-desk employees. The disease also does not seem to hinder advancement in life. Many sufferers of genital-head-syndrome have reached positions of power, wealth and importance. Some have even lead nations.

But there is a darker side to the genital-head-syndrome, one that many sufferers go through their whole lives without being aware of. It’s the lack of respect for their opinions, comments and even life. Nobody cares about a genital-head-sufferer, or what they have to say or what they said to the checkout chick at supabarn last saturday. Genital-head-sufferers go throughout their entire lives without saying anything that is worth more than a dog-dropping. They lead shallow, fruitless existences until they die, after which they become everyone’s best friend.

Have a heart people. It’s not easy for people like Tylersmayhem or PBO. Let’s change society a bit to include them. They’re born every day.

I’ve already bought my subscription to Foxtel. Will you donate?

Is there a way we can just round some of them up, paint numbers on their backs and make them fight one another?

The CT is saying it’s drug related

“Police are investigating what is believed to be a drug-related double stabbing in front of the Red Hill shops.

One man is alleged to have been stabbed in the leg, while the other is alleged to have been stabbed in the chest”

Richard Mulcahy mentioned it this morning on radio. He also said that a guy died last week in the inner-south after being assaulted but the mainstream media aren’t covering it.

I don’t know if Mulcahy’s talking about the “assault” of the old man in the Woden toilets or not.
It seemed mighty suspicious at the time that there were half a dozen police, a forensic unit, a cordon around the toilet, and a lot of people gossiping about it.

But if Mulcahy’s willing to share more information about what he knows, maybe we can find out something.

It happened at about 2am or something early in the morning! There was a short thingie on the news about it last night, very short i guess cause no one died….
