Stacking them up

The Canberra Times brings word of the Laurus Wing to ANU’s Ursula Hall which arrived in modular form as converted shipping containers.

The result is very long and skinny accommodation units which are vastly bigger than the hutches many other halls offer at ANU.

At $215 a week for singles they’d need to be.

$215 including electricity, water and heating, and the unit comes with a fridge and oven. Compared to the private sector equivalents it’s an amazing deal.

$215 sounds like a bargain to me.

The prices of other residences vary from $150 to $300, though the more expensive are meals inclusive so these are about the most expensive out of all their self-catering, however some residences are “from” $$ so that may not be the complete picture.

I’d say they would be pretty good value for a uni student anyway.

What’s the going rate on the other halls? These look clean and mildew-free… 🙂

I hope someone remembered to specify formaldehyde limits?
