One of Mr. Stanhope’s less endearing qualities is the way he classifies people who disagree with him as “enemies” and refuses to listen to anything they say.

The ABC is reporting that the whole of Jerrambomberra has now been added to the list for having the temerity to complain about the clouds of dust coming from the prison construction site:

“There is a major campaign, which we all know, by residents of Jerrabomberra and indeed their political representatives against the prison,” he said.

“They don’t like it, they don’t want it to go ahead, but it’s going to and it’s a fact of life.”

Suffer in your jocks Jerra….

So the Jerra Resistance isn’t anything like the French Resistance of WWII fame; apart from the fact they like to drink fine wine?

The Jerra residence group is terribly important, just ask them. (and no I don’t participate, I’ve been hanging around Canberrans way to long to actually do something useful)

What is with the jerra residence group ? is it just me or do they find a way to whinge at everything and anything ?

There is, and a Woolies servo. But there’s not much else.

VY, isn’t there a Woolies out there?

There’s a few monster houses (mine isn’t one of them). We have a nice quite street up the eastern end, next to a reserve. It’s a nice place to live, but you have to get used to having no public transport, and only basic shops.

actually it was a couple of years ago. Seemed quite nice, some really big houses.

And you didn’t stop at my place for a home brew? Shame on you!

I went to jerra-bom-berra once.

The funny part is that it’s only one side of Jerra that’s actually under the flightpath – the same side the jail is being built next to…

I live on the eastern side of Jerra, and we don’t get noise from planes at all (axcept the occasional buzz from the careflight helicopter, but even that isn’t loud enough to wake my 15 month old son).

Anyone silly enough to pay more than $200k to live under a flightpath deserve to have a prison built near them.
