Stanhope in India

Pune Newsline informs us that Our Brave Leader is alive and well on his Indian trek and reminding his hosts that Canberra does have one half decent game of cricket a year they could come visit and see at our tiddly little oval.

Apparently we have biotech industries the Indians might like to buy.

Well it beats going to the water summit, nice to see the Indians couldn’t be bothered spelling his name right.

UPDATED: The Chief Minister has sent home a media release on his doings abroad. This bit puzzled me:

“Pune has around 150,000 people working directly in ICT, it is a major centre of biotechnology research, and has a very strong tertiary education sector also.

“Pune’s complementarity with Canberra’s business and industry are obvious, as is its desire to step out of the Mumbai shadow, something we can relate to with Sydney”

There I was thinking that complementarity was where we have what they need, and they have what we need, not both cities having very similar resources.

The business delegation will be paying their own way.

Apparently there’s 20 of them on the junket. That’s 20 business class airfares at $10K a pop.

I hear he is going to off load dog catching to a
Mumbai company.

I hope they give him curry!

Can someone throw him into Kali’s vagina accidentally on purpose?

can he stay there?

Who is this John Stanhope and when did he become Chief Minister, Australian Capital Region?

I’d pay a pretty to see who the other 19 delegates on this junket are!

This may be the beginning of the end for the mayor – at least for us having to suffer him as dear leader.

Having sampled a little bit of the international stage he so dearly craves, the local council may be beneath him. We can but hope.

What a fcking joke. Waste of ratepayers money.
