It’s a fact of life that a large part of the population (60%?) really do live under a rock.
Once you account for those short on time, short on english, or just understandably short of patience with the ACT body politic, it’s amazing anyone pays any attention at all.
But when one is turfing a huge chunk of the commuting public out of a dingy but functional bus interchange to literally put them out on the streets it begins to dawn on even the most high handed politician that there might be some repercussions.
To that end Mr Stanhope is once again trying to get the message out about what he’s doing to the public transport users of Belconnen.
- From Monday 25 May, bus services through the Belconnen Town Centre will stop at two temporary bus stations on Cameron Avenue and Lathlain Street and a third permanent bus station on Cohen Street. New ACTION bus timetables will also commence on 25 May.
ACTION will run bus familiarisations tours at the Belconnen Bus Interchange this week to allow patrons to become familiar with the new arrangements. Bear in mind that this carnage has meant another re-work of the bus timetables.
