There’ll be plenty of free entertainment at Crace this Saturday night for their ‘Under the Milky Way’ event.

Canberra Astronomical Society members will be there with our telescopes to give you a tour of the night sky. Saturn is at its best right now, straight overhead. And there are a lot of other great night-sky features that are at their best mid-winter, making it well worth rugging up for.

Back down on Earth, Nine Network’s rising star Alex Gibson will be performing his ‘sweet and sultry’ music. ‘I’m excited to be returning for a special one-off performance under the stars at Crace.’

Come hungry: there’ll be a BBQ with steak sandwiches, hamburgers and sausages for sale, as well as hot and cold drinks. All money raised will go to the Salvation Army to help with its winter appeal.

Be at the Crace memorial on the top of the Hilltop Reserve on Langtree Crescent (a short walk from the corner of Langtree and Hotspur streets) between 6.30pm and 8.30pm. Don’t forget to dress warm, and be sure to rug up the kids.

Alas, I have a prior commitment. But it sounds like a great night, hope that lots of people go along.
