State of the parks. How much cleanup is enough?

Just wondering if this is happening everywhere or I was lucky enough to cop it today.

I turned up at 9am this morning to John Knight Memorial Park in Belconnen ready for my daughters 1st birthday party. The place resembled the tip. All bins were overflowing, there was rubbish spread out about the place.

I ended up cleaning up the mess myself after calling TAMS and being told there were no guarantees someone would be out to clean it up. A vehicle did show eventually, only to pick up my rubbish bags that I collected.

Your lucky you can actually get into the park. The ones around me in Bruce consist of waist high grass and weeds. They are pretty unusable. Seems mowing the lawn every two months doesnt do the trick.
