* Is Civic really dangerous? Catherine Garrett and the Stateline crew spent last Saturday night checking out the nightclubs, the beat police, the taxi ranks – and talking to those out on the town. They survived to tell the tale.

* Geoffrey Lancaster is Canberra’s Australian of the Year – and the most distinguished pianist of his generation. The ANU has just taken possession of a Ronisch piano to add to its antique instrument collection – and Dr Lancaster plays it for us.

Philip Williams is back in the chair as presenter.

FRIDAY AT 7.30. REPEATED AT NOON ON SATURDAY.

This episode was really good! As always the production values were top notch. the thing with the piano bloke was rivetting, I didn’t know who he was, but he really knew his stuff and how to talk about it, and then he’d play wonderful music!
The cop piece was good too. Been a long time since I saw a cop in canberra (unless you count the blokes guarding the carparks at work) so it was good to see where they’ve got to. Sensible story.
