ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery in Weston last night (Wednesday, October 31).

Around 9.20pm two men, with their faces covered, entered the Kingsley’s Chicken restaurant on Liardet Street Weston and threatened staff with a machete, demanding cash.

Staff members complied with their demands and the two men left the store with a small amount of cash.

The two men were seen running towards a green Subaru Liberty station wagon. The vehicle, which had been reported stolen earlier in the day, was later located by police on Chauvel Circle in Chapman.

Anyone who may have been in the vicinity of the Kingsley’s Chicken restaurant yesterday and witnessed the robbery is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.

Alanis Morissette will be most pleased at criminals stealing a Liberty.

Although it would have to be explained to her.

Is this the same Kingsley’s that refused to take part in a community based strategy to stop local school children waggin; namely, they would collectively refuse to serve children food within school hours, thereby attempting to stop scholl kids congregating at local shops instead of say, going to class ..?

Kingsley’s started ranting about ‘discrimination’ and ‘children who have diabetes need food’ .. real heros.

So the business involved in this news story was also involved in another news story – so what? What is your point? Are you suggesting they deserved this robbery?

Please excuse my ignorance, but what is the red poster ban?

The red poster ban means nothing, there’s plenty of other places in worse condition that Kingsleys. You only have to step on the greasy floors at KFC or put your hand in the food boogers on the tables at Maccas.

The red poster ban won’t stop me going to Kingsleys. Besides it’s all deep fried, that will kill almost anything 🙂

Pretty sure these are the same people that smashed the window of my friends car at Weston Park yesterday, grabbing a bag from it and driving off. Apparently the bag looked like a laptop bag – but only held her marking etc (teacher). They were in a green subaru station wagon….

This is really sad. As a regular diner at Kingsleys in Weston, I feel really bad for the staff there. They’re very friendly and hard working, and like any other retail / service provider do not deserve this.

I hope the team there will be OK, and be able to return to their normal routine soon and the guys that held the place up are caught and not given a slap on the wrist.

Incidentally, and I have no connection with the business, but the Weston Kingsley’s is probably the best setup and cleanest of all their stores.

…lol @ cleanest.

Hence the red poster ban.

But yes, I hope these scum are caught.

You know these are first class crims – first you steal a Subaru Liberty. Station Wagon. Then you rob a Kinsley’s.

Next stop, Fort Knox

Where do these blaggards get their machetes from? I have been trying for a while without luck to buy one to use on my expeditions to the the back fence.

Huh, I was leaving the Raiders club across the road at right around 9:20pm. Didn’t see anything though, soz.
