Steve Pratt has announced that he’s tabled a petition in the Assembly demanding the Government ask for help to return road access to the town of Tharwa by throwing a cheapo bridge over the Murrumbidgee River.

“The petition tabled today contained a whopping 1909 signatures and requested the ACT Government to act and ensure that a formal request is made immediately to the Commonwealth Government for assistance in the installation of a temporary low level crossing at Tharwa”

Hmmm, is it just me or is anyone else out there not particularly impressed with 1909 signatures? I realise that it could be a big number for Assembly petitions, but still…

don’t you know about gang of bushrangers calling themselves CCC

They’d be the kamikaze bushrangers.

yes sammy, don’t you know about gang of bushrangers calling themselves CCC that will force drivers off the road to their death.

He is good for the odd laugh.

The detour is a potential killer

Are the armed bandits back patrolling Point Hut Crossing?

What a wank. Southern NSW is affected by the Tharwa bridge closure? Get your hand off it.

Sign Tharwa Bridge petition at the Tharwa store. Further signatures will be tabled as they come in. It is not only the people in the deep south that are affected but the whole community and southern NSW. The detour is a potential killer.

Personally I always take the high primary vote of the major parties as proof positive that most people aren’t paying any attention to politics.

Sadly, I saw the Pratster when I was last down at the local shops – He was there with his petition. I couldn’t bring myself to sign it, as *he* was associated with it.

While I was in Woolies, one of my friends bumped into me. He and his wife were beaming, having just signed. They asked if I signed the petition, and I said I couldn’t because the tosser is such a tool, and I was not prepared to be associated with anything he did.

Amazingly, they didn’t know about his grafiti antics. Sadly, if they don’t know, then &$^%$ loads of others probably dont know.

Sad, Sad, Sad

I would happily sign it. Regularly go bushwalking in Namadgi and having to detour via Point Hut Crossing is a pain in the backside.

I feel sorry for the folks who live down that way and have to put up with it every day.

I wondered about that myself.

where do I sign up ????

it’s ruined my sunday drive! And I live in the inner north.

in you use the context that this is to help a handful of people in the deep south where nobody ventures – nearly 2000 signature is pretty impressive
