Steven Bailey has a website now

By Barcham - 9 July 2013 19

Steve

Ladies and gentlemen Steven Bailey dot com dot au.

Sometimes, and I’m sure I’m not alone in this, but sometimes I stop and wonder if Steven Bailey is actually the creation of some brilliant performance artist, and we’re all just along for the ride.

What’s Your opinion?

I just saw Steve carrying a huge hat at the Lyneham shops. He assured me that it was the size that counts, which I countered with saying that sometimes it’s the lean.

He seems witty and nice. I find this all very confusing.

I’m curious about how he plans on blowing up the moon, as quoted on his website.

Me too. I think I’d rather vote for someone with more of a pro-moon stance, but I’m willing to hear his reasoning.

On a very serious note, I have always enjoyed the moon in all its rich femininity. I have listened to it in Lorca’s Blood Wedding; I have played the sonata of its moonlight; and I have made love beneath its virgin eye. But, my trusty Campaign Manager (my dog Bruce), has been howling at it recently with more disapprobation than normal. Unfortunately, for democracy, our suspicions have been confirmed – Zed Seselja has been hiding on the moon, and plans to return to earth, to destroy it, the day after the election as a senator. I put it to Zed that it is morally incumbent upon those who seek to represent the Australian people to engage in a contest of ideas, rather than hide behind the banner of a big party. Indeed it is a duty to democracy for Zed to grow some balls and put his case forward to the ACT. In the event that Zed does not return from the moon in sufficient time before the election, I am sorry, but I will have no choice but to make it a policy of the ACT branch of Katter’s Australian Party to explode the moon to oblivion! I invite the community of Canberra for suggestions on how this may be achieved. The health of our democracy is dependent on our ability to imagine together.

Sincerely,
Steven Bailey

I think it’s a gay reference. Think about it…

Ok, I’m confused

]From the age of ten he would often strap on a jerry can of fuel and a backpack, taking off for a weekend of adventures in the highlands of NSW and Victoria, returning on a Sunday afternoon just in time for a bath and night of playing the piano

He would strap on a jerry can? Onto what – his body? To do what – light really big cooking fires? To drink? To power his cyborg body?

I suppose many people consider acting as untruthful, but of course it’s the opposite that is true. A good actor is a good actor because she/he tells the truth. All politicians are actors; what matters is whether or not they are truthful people. So, ‘As You Like It’, (Shakespeare).

‘All the world’s a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts’

although, john wayne also rendered shakespeare, thusly:

[in john wayne drawl]
all the world’s a stage…
coach.

Does anyone know the Katter Party’s position on welfare cheats?

Saw a very entertaining performance of this play in Stratford on Avon a few weeks ago, in and by the Royal Shakespeare Company. I can highly recommend it, should you be in the area. And for 14 pounds, upper circle seat D28 really didn’t have a restricted view at all. Slow start, but well worth persevering for the full 3.5 hours.

So top marks for your literary references, Steven, but I live in NSW and vote Greens. Sorry.

Politics is way to boring!

Now, may I just point out that your use of ‘to’ instead of ‘too’ completely changes the meaning of your sentence. However, I believe that politics is the way to boring, too.

Thank you.

I too think that there is a touch of urine extraction about his Katter candidacy, the Greens I could believe, but the Mad Katters?

We might see some of the far left green vote shifting to the far right.
