Still no apology from Robin Tennant-Wood

There’s been some water under the bridge since 21 October 2012 when UC academic and vaunted electoral expert Assistant Professor in the Discipline of Government at the University of Canberra Robin Tennant-Wood called me a bozo for questioning her “official” prediction that the ACT Legislative Assembly would have an 8-7-2 split following the ACT election.

As history, and the actual real official announcement, shows the result came out 8-8-1.

It started with this:

It went on like this:

To prove her point she sent a link which was password protected, making it a bit difficult to see her point, and as it was to the UC domain probably wasn’t official.

And ended with my reasonable questions earning the unexpected sobriquet of “bozo”.

The actual, official, results were published on 27 October.

Keep the RiotACT looking outward, towards Canberra.

Godda say that with the origin of the word “bozo” described in an early google hit as an American term meaning “muscular, low IQ male” then … not so much …. on both counts …. : )

I always thought it came from Bozo the Clown, a character on US TV in the 1960s.

Perhaps a little harsh on the 2nd point but there is a glowing trend there.

Just looking at the time stamps on those tweets. Were you guys out partying with Antony Green or something?

My guess would be that those time stamps aren’t based on Australian Eastern Standard Time.

“Bozo”!? – oh dear (reaches for smelling salts and Regency lady fan) – I suppose this sort of public outrage is only to be expected when you go turning colleges of advanced education into universities.

Mind you, if it had gotten really vicious, a la the RiotAct, the hyphenated prof. might have lamented the fact that you’re allowed to vote.

Perhaps we should turn to Bill Oddie to give us his take on rockin Robin?

Been stewing on this for a while, hey JB?

At the time I thought I’d wait for the official announcement.

And then I just forgot about it until I was reading David Thorne’s book today.

I’m no David Thorne, but I thought it would be of interest to readers.
