Hi All,

One of my mates has had his place burgled yesterday 7th November in the middle of the day. He has had a number of electronic items stolen, and i’m writing in hope that someone might get offered one of these goods and for them to let me know so we can try and recover the items.

Items stolen were:

Dell Inspiron 9300 Laptop
Dell C600 laptop
Compaq E500 Laptop
60GB Photo iPod (if you check out the gallery, there will be items such as “Paris 2005”, “England 2005” in there
XBox

If anyone has any information, please let me know by email jimmyd@jimmyd.com.au.

Thankyou very much for your help,
James

I’m sorry to hear about the burglary zhimmyd. Especially when I heard the other day that the Police Burglary Task force has locked up 6 of Canberras biggest repeat offenders and dropped the overall burglary stats by 50% (I cannot remember the figures I heard)

Thanks for your support. The theft took place in Monash (on Charlton street surprisinly probably Monash’s main and busiest drag). My mate does infact have the serial numbers for the items, i’ll try and obtain them tomorrow and post them up. Why does he have 3 laptops? Well being in IT you tend to accumulate this sort of equipment. I can’t tell you how many PC’s i’ve owned personally! Like having your wallet stolen, its the items that are in it that is of most importance. Please do keep an ear out for anyone selling the above mentioned items and let me know. Your help is much appreciated. If we manage to catch these gus (can tell you one of the guys would have been about 190cm tall with brown hair thanks to the neighbour) it will at least take a couple more theives off the streets so this doesn’t happen to someone else.

Maybe its rude to ask, but why the hell does anyone need 3 laptops?

If anyone offers any of these to me in the pub though, I’ll be sure to let you know how much I paid.

I presume you’re in Canberra James? Although it may not help, a rough geographical area of the theft *may* assist (ie for those local seedy watering establishments).

Did your mate have the serial numbers recorded anywhere – can you post them here?

Thieves are scum, it should be legal for us to shoot them.
