Stolen gnome!

By Thumper - 15 December 2011 13

Someone stole my gnome.

He’s quite short, dressed in raiders colours with a number three on his back. He’s also quite elderly now as he was a Mal Meninga gnome, except white.

Last seen in Macgregor sitting in a tree.

Hopefully he’s on a world tour or something but I fear he may have met with a tragic end.

What’s Your opinion?

Have heard stories about gnomes being stolen by scuba diving afficiandos, transported to the south coast and put in an underwater cave, which is now purportedly full of gnomes.

Not sure if this is true but I really hope it is.

Yes, it’s true – IIRC they are located in a cave near Brush Island, NSW. 🙂

Outstanding! Thank you, you’ve made my day.

And seing as a gnome thread means I just cant help myself, here’s a bad Joke, that will be most familiar to anyone who knows David Bowies really early work:

Fred: tic tic tic
Bowie: What’s that ticking noise?
Laughing Gnome: That’s Fred, He’s a Metro-Gnome!

Have heard stories of garden gnomes being stolen and pictures taken of it by the thieves at various locations on holiday trip and the pictures being sent to the owners of the gnome. May your gnome travel far.

Is there an orphanage in Canberra for garden gnomes, or an “I lost my gnome” site? I’ve had a few garden gnomes abandoned on my mailbox and would love to reunite them with their owners, or have them find good homes.

Perhaps post mugshots (of the gnomes) on here?

Vinnies Dickson has a bin of gnomes on special at the moment … if you resign yourself to needing a replacement …

We had ours stolen. Just a run of the mill gnome. I think someone may have been gathering them up for an excursion .Perhaps it was a gnome’s bucks night and that would explain them ending up in the bin.

Maybe he left in pursuit of a career in politics in which case you can expect him home soon.

He’s faded then?

“Mal Meninga gnome, except white.”

The real one wasn’t? Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

He might have ducked off to Arties funeral…
