rain radar

After last night’s deluge it looks like another band is headed in this afternoon on the radar.

Clearing in the evening though.

As always, if you have an interesting photo of the weather shoot it through to images@the-riotact.com

Agree with previous posters, I was on Gungahlin Drive when it hit and traffic was at a standstill as you could not see an armslength in front of you. Two lanes had to become one because there was so much water at the sides of the road. My car came off second best with lots of paint off the bonnet 🙁

I note the Canberra Times deny the hailstorm that went through Gungahlin about 5:20 ever happened. Was fun to watch as Hibberson Street had a nice meter wide torrent running down it past the front of The G. 8 mils eh? Must have imagined the rest.

Unfortunately I was in my car when it hit, around 530pm. I thought it was going to smash the windscreen.

It’s amazing how much roads in Gungahlin flood when it rains. I drove from there to Belconnen, and the roads were fine as soon as you crossed the Barton Hwy.

Well, let me tell you that little storm hit like a bomb in Gungahlin – hail was a decent size and the car took the brunt of it.
