line faces

Iterations of these faces formed from long lines have been spreading through Sullivan’s Creek in Canberra’s Inner North lately, but I think this one, with the final line having a reversed face.

Perhaps their gormless anonymity mirrors the office workers whizzing past on their bicycles?

I kind of like them.

I haven’t seen them before – but they do have a charm.

Luuk is local street artist/slash graphic designer. He has his own range of shirt designs too.
He is a nice boy.

These faces are also turning up on things like fire hydrants, fuse boxes and the like… I’m pretty sure I’ve spied a couple along Ainslie Ave (or elsewhere around Civic). A well-designed tag or what?

I enjoy these and have taken to actually looking for them as they seem to pop up in odd place.

They also appear on the columns of the underpass near Blundell’s cottage with miniature versions (about 4cm’s) on the the handrail of Kings Avenue Bridge (nearest the National Gallery).

According to well known Canberra art critic and spy, Steve Pratt, they are actually real people and they are following him.

So have you tried lying down at their base and looking up at them to see them in their true perspective?

NOTE: NOT recommended after heavy rain!

I like ’em too JB.

Remind me of Easter Island statues. Or Malcom Fraser.

BTW, I wonder how the drain kitties have fared after all the rain.
