“dihedralcorner” has posted this to Youtube with the following note:

A recent early morning paddle down Curtin creek after a lot of rain the day before. Urban white (brown) water). Hazards include shopping trolley strainers, killer Carp and the everpresent e coli. A fun start to the day 😉

Kids, please don’t tell anyone you saw it here if you decide to try it.

Back in the days of the 90s floods we used to hit Berridale creek (right next to the highway) on the boogie boards.

Tuggeranong Creek looked much more exciting the other day, but the syringe carp might have been an issue.

Tame for an experienced kayaker. Try a run down Red Rocks, Collington Gorge or even Angle Crossing-Tharwa in a flood!

Nice. Quiet.

Bunch of wusses. Back in my day it was Sullivans Creek on a lilo!

That looks far less dangerous than I thought it would!

I remember being at Pine Island a few years back, and the ‘Bidgee was running a bit high from Spring rain. Saw a “Solo Man” impersonator take his kayak over the rocks just down from the barbeques and playground. The bow hit a submerged rock and bent the front 30cm or so straight upwards. Thought he would have had whiplash, but he paddled on downstream.

But I never saw him again. Perhaps his ghost haunts the spot to this very day.

Mmmmm, foamy.

Looks like fun though.
