Strange Things on Northbourne

On my way home this afternoon – at approx 1520 heading north on Northbourne Ave adjacent to the Tourist Info Center I had to slow down for a police officer who was running northbound while trying to cross the 3 lanes of traffic.

I slowed and allowed him to pass over to the median strip and he start bolting southbound.

On closer observation there was already another cop on the far side of the road running as fast as he could southbound past the Tourist Info Center.

About 50 meters up the road there was a cop car mounting the gutter to proceed back southbound as well.

Anyone know anything about this.

Looked to me like a foot chase – but I could not see any assailants.

Some of the office workers hang doughnuts over northbourne using fishing rods…

Cops just do that to cause a stir. Need to keep fit on work time, go for a run and look like you are chasing someone.

“Missed…by THAT much.”

I was heading the other way up Northbourne (city bound), and saw a guy in the middle of Northbourne, he ran out in heavy traffic in front of a concrete truck directly in front of me, and was almost hit by the truck and a car in the far left lane. Wondered what was going on until the guy looked over his shoulder and then I noticed the cop on the other side of Northbourne….

Running Southbound you say? Heading to KrispyKreme?

I noticed out my office window that workers on the site of the “Space 2” apartment building were running in lots of different directions & looked like they were chasing someone around that same time. Could be related.

yakkety sax.

i believe they were the fashion police and a bogan had been spotted wearing a paisley shirt instead of the compulsory flannelette.

cool mental picture !

It’s times like these I wish I had the funny Benny Hill style chase music cued up on the car stereo, and my finger on the volume…
